What Hamlet Was Really Talking About

To drill or not to drill, that is the question.  Whether ‘tis nobler to suffer the slings and arrows of the outrageous left-wingers who are doing everything they possibly can to keep us from drilling for oil, or to take arms against a sea of tree-huggers and oppose them.

And you thought Hamlet was talking about suicide.  Well, maybe he was prophesying the future of the American economy as the Pelosi-led egomaniacal left-wing wackos all but squeeze the trigger on the Uzi at the head of the average consumer.  I’d love to turn the tables on them and force them to do something to “Save the Planet.”  After all, if there are no humans left, there ain’t much worth saving.  Let’s see a polar bear run for Congress . . . oh wait!  That might be an improvement.

And the planet has survived for how many billions of years according the evolutionists?  It has survived atomic bombs, tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, and thousands of wars already.  Like a little drilling is going to do more damage than all of that?  Right.

Maybe it was said best in Macbeth: Is this a dagger which I see before me; the handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee. I have thee not, and yet I see thee still.

That may be the sentiment of a majority of Americans as they reach for the self-serve gas pump and take a deep breath.  That was very predictive of old William, huh?  How could he possibly have known how desperate Americans were going to be in 2008 when he wrote this over 400 years ago?

Perhaps the words of the three witches in Macbeth are better?  Fair is foul and foul is fair.  And the head witch in the 21st century version would be one Nancy Pelosi.  as she stirs the cauldron of high gas prices and economic instability, can’t you just hear her cackle as she says, “Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble?”

After all, Americans are definitely in trouble and having difficulty distinguishing between what is fair and what is foul.  Especially when the media blames the President and conservative Republicans for ALL of the high gas prices yet they themselves support saving whales over saving the economic bankruptcy of the American populace.

And what options do we have for the next 4 years?  McCain would drill if he could get Congressional approval which won’t happen unless we get Pelosi out of her position.  Then there is Obama who can’t seem to make up his mind one way or the other.  So, in the meantime, big oil continues to ratchet up the squeeze on the consumer all the while laughing at us as we writhe in pain.

Ah these big oil execs and the Congressmen they own.  I quote Hamlet again, “Like a villain with a smiling cheek a goodly apple rotten at the heart.”  Sounds like a good definition to me.

While car manufacturers struggle to keep factories open, Exxon posted an 11-billion dollar profit for the 2nd quarter.  That’s the 2nd quarter, y’all, 3 months.  So, of course, the Exxon executives are going to lobby Congress to not drill in order to save a whale.  To save a freakin’ sperm whale out in the Arctic, and maybe a polar bear in Alaska, the Libs are willing to sacrifice the future of your grandchildren on the altar of global warming.

Personally, I’d like to warm something, but it ain’t the planet!  How about the hides of some on these envirofreaks on my altar?  I’d even consider using the skin of a dead animal to administer the sacrifice!

Since I really can’t do that, I’d like to encourage all who read this to vote against the left-wingers so that maybe we can at least gain control of Congress in case Obama “the messiah” becomes our next leader.
